Spring Westfield High School football team to host Houston Memorial
Spring Westfield High School football team will play its home opener at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7 when it battles Houston Memorial at George Stadium.
Westfield crushed Houston Aldine 43-7 in its opener Friday, Aug. 31. Emmit Raleigh paved the way in the win, rushing for three touchdowns, while Luis Sanchez nailed two field goals.
Raleigh rushed for 165 yards and William Dedon completed seven of his 11 pass attempts for 104 yards. Dedon threw TD passes to Dexter Garrett and Donovan Thompson.
Houston Memorial won its opener 34-14 over Houston Stratford on Friday, Aug. 31.
The Mustangs were led by Tyler McCloskey, who rushed for three TDs and finished his night with 91 yards. Brian Womac recovered a fumble and ran 18 yards for a score. Memorial rolled up 300 yards in the win.
The Broncos will play at Klein Collins on Thursday, Sept. 13 and will play host to Klein on Friday, Sept. 21. They play at Humble Atascocita on Thursday, Sept. 27. All three games are scheduled for 7 p.m. kickoffs.
The Mustangs play at Pearland on Friday, Sept. 14 in a 7 p.m. tilt and will play at Katy Cinco Ranch on Saturday, Sept. 29 in a 6 p.m. encounter. They will host Houston Strake Jesuit on Saturday, Oct. 6 in a 6 p.m. game.
