Klein alum a part of Rangers victory
David Murphy, a 2000 graduate of Klein High School, collected three hits to help the Texas Rangers to a 2-0 win over the Chicago White Sox in Major League Baseball action on Sunday.
Murphy doubled off Sox started Gavin Floyd and came away with two more hits off relievers. In 2012, Murphy is batting .289, with nine home runs, and 32 RBI.
After a standout career at Klein, Murphy played college baseball at Baylor University. He was drafted in the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft by the Boston Red Sox.
He became part of the Texas Rangers in 2007 when he was acquired by trade.
