New Caney HS grad Adam Dunn doubles up on Twins
New Caney High School graduate Adam Dunn stayed hot, as the White Sox beat the Twins 8-2 Wednesday.
Dunn went 1-for-4, with a double and a run scored. It was the 13th double of the season for Dunn.
On the season, Dunn leads the majors with 31 home runs. He is batting .215, with 73 RBIs.
The Cincinnati Reds drafted Dunn in the second round (50th overall) of the 1998 amateur Draft. He made his big league debut on July 20, 2001, and went on to set a rookie record for most home runs in a month, with 12, in August 2001.
Dunn spent eight seasons with the Reds before being traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Aug. 11, 2008, for three players. A free agent after the season for the first time, he signed a two-year contract to play for the Washington Nationals. On Dec. 2, 2010, Dunn signed a four-year, $56 million contract with Chicago.
Dunn was born Nov. 9, 1979, in Houston.
