Fourteen Woodlands-area runners complete Wounded Warrior Half Marathon
Fourteen Woodlands-area runners completed the Wounded Warrior Half Marathon on Sunday, June 10 in Las Colinas.
Ewan Walker, 14, and Alan Walker, 40, were among the fastest The Woodlands runners who finish. They completed the race in 1:43:41 and 1:54:28, respectively. Eight other runners from The Woodlands also crossed the finish line.
The runners from Magnolia who participated in the race are Denise Shannon, 38, who completed the race in 2:34:52; Michael Shannon, 50, who clocked in at 2:38:05; Steven Poole, 50, who crossed the finish line in 3:25:06; and Sondra Poole, 50, who took 3:25:07.
A total of 1,514 runners finished the 13.1-mile race, which started and ended around Williams Square. The beneficiaries of the event are Semper Fi Fund, and ReserveAid.
Noel Fernandez of Irving was the men's overall winner with a time of 1:17:28, while Tara Upshaw of Southlake was the women's winner in 1:24:27.
