North Harris County YMCA offers classes in tae kwon do
Tae kwon do classes are being offered from 5:30-6:25 p.m., July 9-30 and Aug. 6-27 at North Harris County Family YMCA, located at 17125 Ella Blvd. in Houston.
These classes will teach a version of unarmed self-defense combat for adults and children 7 and older. Tae kwon do is considered an art form that helps focus the mind, body and spirit. The class will also teach respect for others and self-motivation.
Cost is $36 per month, per participant for facility members and $56 per month per participant for program members. Payment is due by the fifth of each month. A $10 late fee will be added for every day payment is not made after the fifth. Scheduled payments are available.
Uniforms may be purchased for $60 through the instructor.
Belt-level classes for students who have tested to yellow stripe level and higher will be available in September.
