Westfield High announces top two graduates

Westfield High School has announced its valedictorian and salutatorian.

Valedictorian Shuhan Reyes, 18, has been awarded the Frank Armstrong Scholarship, which pays full tuition, or $170,000, over four years; the Executive Women International Scholarship, $5,000; the Spring ISD Spring Way Scholarship, $1,000; and the Spring ISD Career and Technical Education-Outstanding Student Award, $1,000.

Reyes has not yet selected the college she wants to attend, but she is planning to become a neurosurgeon.

Salutatorian Rachel Reed, 17, has been awarded a full Air Force ROTC scholarship of $200,000 over four years; the Society of Women Engineers-Chevron Scholarship, $1,000; the Ponderosa Forest Scholarship, $2,000; Pursuit Scholarship, $750; Hamman Foundation Scholarship, $16,000; Jesse Jones Scholarship, $16,000; the University of Texas at Austin Presidential Scholarship, $60,000; the University of Texas at Austin Engineering Scholarship, $2,000; FIRST Scholarship, $80,000; the PEO STAR Scholarship, $2,500; and the Colorado School of Mines for $64,000.

Her school of choice is MIT or Stanford University.
