Project 20-20 Advisory Board member earns Fulbright grant

Valerie Hill-Jackson, associate professor at Texas A&M University, was recently awarded a Fulbright Traditional Core Scholar grant.

The grant will allow Hill-Jackson to research and lecture at Cardiff University in Cardiff, Wales, from August 2012 through August 2013.

During her time in Wales, Hill-Jackson will have the opportunity to collaborate with Cardiff University’s Center for Critical and Cultural Theory in the Cardiff School of English Communication and Philosophy.

According to the press release, she will be studying critical teacher education, community studies/service learning and STEM education for the underserved. Hill-Jackson will also be teaching a social science course at Cardiff.

The Fulbright Traditional Core Scholar grant is a highly selective program sponsored by the U.S. government to award United States faculty and professionals who exhibit outstanding academic or professional achievements with the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research abroad.
