Young star heads for bright lights, big city

Young actress Natalie Davidson, 11, has strong start on her life’s ambition to become a professional actress. She has played lead roles in well-known plays and has traveled to New York City to audition for several roles.

“I am really proud of myself,” said Natalie, “that I’m going through all this and I’m not like going crazy. I love that my parents are supporting me through all this, like going to New York. It costs a lot, but they believe in me. I want to say thank you to my parents.”

Accomplishments: Played lead role in “Seussical the Musical” at the Berry Center in February, auditioned for an as yet unnamed movie that needed a girl who could sing, auditioned for the Broadway Production of “Annie” in New York City, auditioned for a TV show called “Bubble Guppies” on Nickelodeon Network.

Favorite class: “Math because I get really good grades in math. It just makes it fun.”

Favorite things to do after class: “I like to act, sing, dance and play guitar.”

Favorite book: “ ‘The Hunger Games.’ I think it’s a really interesting book because it’s based in the future and shows what life could be like in the future.”

Favorite song: “Pulled from the Adams Family.”

Favorite TV show: “One On One on Nickelodeon.”

Favorite website: “Moshimonsters.com. It’s really fun. It’s like a virtual world where you have your own pets and all that.”

Favorite movie: “ ‘The Lorax.’ I used to listen to that story when I was a kid, and it was really cool seeing it come to life.”

Ambition: “I want to be an actress or a singer. I’ve been singing and acting since I was really little and I really love it. Going to New York and auditioning for Broadway and Nickelodeon. It’s been really fun, so I’m going to stick with it.”
