Klein ISD has 10 National Merit semifinalists

The National Merit Scholarship Corp. recently named 10 Klein ISD students as 2012 National Merit semifinalists.

The semifinalists from Klein Collins High School are Diego Guala, Mallory Kohut and Chuchu Ma.

The semifinalists from Klein High School are Sooraj Bhakthavachalam, Adam Mansfield, Nathan McCammon, Brandon Newman and Pooja Srikanth.

And, the semifinalists from Klein Oak High School are Akil Chittaluru and Alexandra Summers.

Finalists will be announced in February.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
