Spring seniors' community appoints new head of nursing

Lutheran Social Services (LSS) has named Deborah A. Sees as director of nursing for The Village at Gleannloch Farms.

Sees most recently served as a nurse consultant for five long-term-care and skilled nursing facilities in the Houston and Galveston areas. As a corporate nurse consultant, she was a mentor for directors of nursing, provided teaching for the staff and performed medical record audits. She has also been the director of nursing at four different senior living communities in Pennsylvania as well as the Houston area.

During her career, Sees has implemented clinical systems, has been able to improve clinical outcomes and has been a director of the Alzheimer’s unit. She is Tile certified, American Red Cross CPR and first aid certified and was certified as an investigator for the Office of Mental Retardation in Pennsylvania.

“Deborah has been in the nursing field for 30 years and has plenty of prior experience with active aging communities,” said Kathy Johanns, executive director for The Village at Gleannloch Farms. “We consider the health of our residents to be one of our top priorities and are confident that Deborah possesses the qualifications we were looking for to fill that vitally important position.”

The Village at Gleannloch Farms is a nonprofit community offering 123 independent living apartments and cottages for active adults age 62 and older. In addition, the community offers a continuum of care, including 30 assisted living apartments, 18 memory support residences and 35 private skilled nursing suites.
