Spring company sued over alleged shoddy roof repair
A Heights company is suing a Spring business, and others, claiming secret and shoddy roof repairs.
Regal General Contractors filed a lawsuit on Feb. 7 in the Harris County District Court against Lovett Homes, In-TownHomes.com and Eco Roofing Systems of Spring, alleging trespass, breach of contract and fraud.
Regal General says that in June 2010, the roof of its property, located at 2611 Arabelle in the Heights, was damaged by the defendants, who were working on a townhome next door. According to the brief, the defendants, aware of the damage they caused the roof, secretly attempted repairs.
Regal General knew nothing of this incident until the roof leaked during a rainstorm, causing more than $12,000 in damages. The defendants initially agreed to reimburse Regal General for the damage, but they have yet to follow through on the promise, the plaintiff says.
Regal General Contractors is seeking actual and exemplary damages, as well as attorney’s fees and court costs. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney William Bush.
