HS girls basketball preview: Klein Oak v. Katy
Klein Oak hosts Katy in girls high school basketball action on Monday night.
Klein Oak is 4-4 on the season after losing to Langham Creek 47-39 last Tuesday. Ana Dominguez, a 6-foot, 1-inch junior, led Klein Oak with 22 points in the loss.
Dominguez leads Klein Oak in scoring on the season at 11.9 points per game while DJ Vallier, a 6-foot senior, averages 6.7 points per game.
As a team, Klein Oak is shooting 35 percent from the floor and 33 percent from behind the arc.
Following Monday's game against Katy, Klein Oak will be in action on Saturday at Tomball Concordia Lutheran.
Katy is 2-4 on the season after beating Fort Bend Dulles 30-29 last time out. Marley Brown, a 5-foot, 5-inch sophomore guard, had 11 points and five steals in the win. Brown leads the team in scoring at 12.3 points per game.
Andrea Owens, a 5-foot, 9-inch sophomore forward, and Meagan Jackman, a 5-foot, 6-inch senior guard, each average 5.7 points per game for Katy.
After battling Klein Oak, Katy will host Alief Taylor on Tuesday.
Monday's tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
