HS football: Dekaney falls to Westfield, 21-20
Dekaney (6-4) fell an extra point short in a 21-20 defeat to Westfield (6-4) in Friday night district football at George Stadium.
With only 33 seconds left in the game, Armand Nance scored a 3-yard touchdown reception thrown by Jarrett Irving to put Dekaney within one point of tying up the game.
The kick failed.
Despite the loss, Dekaney's Trey Williams had a 67-yard touchdown run that sparked the near victory. Williams finished with 249 yards on the ground and averaged 8-yards per carry.
Spring Westfield quarterback Louis Pryor went 5 of 8 for 78-yards with three touchdowns. His teammate Christian Jones had three receptions for 57-yards and averaged 19 yards per catch with two touchdowns. Jones' longest was a 40-yard touchdown reception in the third-quarter.
