Pro Baseball: Christopher Coleman George, Norfolk Tides
Christopher Coleman George pitched four innings, striking out three and allowing two earned runs Sunday in the Norfolk Tides's 6-5 loss to the Columbus Clippers. George graduated from Klein High School.
George is a 1998 graduate Klein High School where he was a first-team all-American as a pitcher during his senior season 1998. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the first round (31st overall) of the 1998 Major League Baseball draft. George made 77 starts in the Royals' farm system before making his debut with the big club on July 26 2001. He made 47 appearances (44 starts) over parts of four seasons (2001 to 2004) with Kansas City logging a career Major League record of 14-20 with a 6.48 ERA over 237 innings pitched. George has not pitched in the Majors since 2004 spending the next six seasons (2005 to 2010) pitching in Triple-A for six different organizations (Kansas City Florida Toronto Colorado Boston and Baltimore). George was born Sept. 16 1979 in Houston.
